Junior School pupils review four non-fiction books

square-1Having had their application accepted by the School Library Association, a team of junior pupils (from across Years 3 to 6) formed a book review panel.

They developed their own set of judging criteria, before scrutinising four non-fiction books to decide which one, in their opinion, was the best.

Some of the junior panel are avid readers while others were chosen to inspire them to try a different genre.

Having judged the content and presentation of the books carefully, the panel cast their vote. The best book, in their opinion was ‘How Many Mice Make an Elephant’? By Tracey Turner and Aaron Cushley. A book about size and distance that is packed full of STEM facts.

Ultimately, when the votes are cast from children in schools across the country, one book will be announced as the winner of the prestigious Schools’ Information Book Awards.

What greater commendation can there be for any children’s author, than one awarded by the children themselves?

We can't wait to hear the final result and wonder if everyone else agree with our choice?
