Reading for charity

Reading for charity

Congratulations to Aoife in Year 6 who has raised £193 for Cure Parkinson’s, entirely through her own endeavours.

The idea came about following a PSHE class which asked the girls to think, hypothetically, about how they would go about raising money for charity.

This lesson got Aoife reflecting on how she could challenge herself, while also raising money for a good cause.

As a self-confessed ‘reluctant reader’ she set herself the task of reading for at least half an hour a day for the month of March, and used this time to tackle two books in the Scarlet and Ivy Series as well as Jessica Ennis’ biography.

She was delighted when all her friends rallied round and supported her initiative which helped her to reach her grand total.
