To celebrate the end of a brilliant first half term at Redmaids’ High, our Year 7 students enjoyed three action-packed days of fun, friendship and adventure during their team-building event. The celebrations began on Wednesday evening, when the girls gathered for a cosy pyjama and pizza night complete with bubble tea, a lively quiz, and a sing-along screening of The Greatest Showman. The evening ended on a high note, quite literally, with some spirited K-Pop “Demon Hunters” karaoke, filling the PAC with a lot of laughter!
On Thursday, the focus turned to creativity, collaboration and challenge. Based at school, students were mixed into new teams and set a series of activities designed to test their problem-solving skills and teamwork. These included Lego Globetrotters, where they built imaginative models representing countries around the world; Junk to Gems, transforming recycled materials into artistic models representing the school’s values; Rugby Rush, learning the fundamentals of touch rugby; and Mission Possible, a fast-paced challenge that saw teams racing to complete a range of high-energy tasks to earn points and prizes.
The final day on Friday took the adventure outdoors at Adventure Bristol in Ashton Court. Despite the autumn downpours, spirits remained high as the girls tackled the high ropes course, raced Flintstone-style cars of their own design, and navigated the mansion house in a thrilling game of laser tag. Their courage, teamwork and laughter shone through from start to finish.
Staff were full of praise for the girls’ energy, enthusiasm and resilience, qualities that have defined their first term at Redmaids’ High. Our student Sophie summed it up perfectly: 'It was really nice to mix with new students and make new friends.' It was a wonderful way to round off a successful start to Year 7, full of new friendships, shared challenges and lasting memories.
