Meet our Year 3 pupils - This is Teddy

Year 3 has just completed a hugely successful first year at the Junior School. Earlier in this series, we met Dulcie and Freya, and now we would like to introduce Teddy to find out what she has loved about the Juniors so far. From speaking to her, it is easy to see why we never underestimate a 7-year-old.

What have you enjoyed the most since joining the Junior School?

I've made lots of friends and there are so many opportunities and activities. I loved Mendip and trying caving and canoeing in Friday activity hour. The new library has a really good choice of books and the Midnight Garden room is really calming. I enjoy relaxing in there and reading. I’m looking forward to music and drama lessons that I’ll be starting in Year 4. The teachers are also really nice!

What is your favourite subject and why?

English is my favourite because we learn about different books. I find it fun when books are in a series. I’ve enjoyed Ottoline and the Yellow Cat, The Iron Man which we’ve used for comprehension and Little Red Riding Hood. We’ve done lots of story-writing where you are shown a picture on the board and then we write our own stories.

What are your favourite books and why?

I love sci-fi books like Petrol Head by Rob Williams because they are really imaginative and make you think about the characters. I didn’t expect to like the Roald Dahl autobiography Boy & Going Solo but it surprised me how much I liked it. Another of my favourites is Beast & the Bethany by Jack-Meggitt-Phillips.

We are so pleased to hear about how your love of reading has developed this year!
